J'onn J'onzz, like most Green Martians, lived with his family in a great pyramid on Ma'aleca'andra.
History
After the plague of H'ronmeer's Curse and the Martian Manhunter's displacement to Earth, his home was left abandoned like all the others on a dead planet.
It wasn't until a reunion with the Spectre after a decade of meeting him - now more benevolent in his new host - that the agent of vengeance offered him a gift of friendship. The Spectre used his divine power to transport J'onn's home to Earth, along with a base of Martian soil, placing it in the isolated Gobi Desert.[1]
As all Martians could phase through solid matter, J'onn's home had no entry points of any kind. For privacy amongst a race of beings connected telepathically, the walls shielded the occupants from psionic intrusion.[2] At its core, the most sacred fixture of a Martian home was known as a "well of souls," a spiritual conduit that allowed the family to communicated with the spirits of their ancestors.[3]
