Professional History

J.K. Simmons is one of the most prominent and recognizable character actors of his generation, with over two hundred credits to his name in film, television, and gaming. He has too many iconic roles to count, with some of the most notable being J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Tenzin on The Legend of Korra, Terence Fletcher in Whiplash, Ford Pines on Gravity Falls, and Omni-Man on Invincible.

Simmons' first role in a DC Comics adaptation was as General Wade Eiling on the animated series Justice League Unlimited. He later returned to voice Evil Star on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and later portrayed Commissioner Gordon in Justice League, and by proxy its director's cut, Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Simmons was set to reprise his role as Commissioner Gordon in the film Batgirl. He filmed all his scenes, and the film was meant to release in 2022, but a few months before release, the project was permanently shelved by Warner Bros. for a tax write-off, despite being in post-production when it was canceled.
