J. Worthington Blimp was a bulbously-built, chain-smoking braggart, who undertook some well publicized but ill-thought-out athletic endeavors, in the 1930s.

History

Much to the amusement of his neighbors and associates, J. Worthington Blimp bragged his way into a series of comical predicaments, from which he had some deal of trouble extricating himself.

While attempting to bicycle from New York City to San Diego, he got involved in the theft of a stagecoach and two plow horses, from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Mr. Blimp's accomplice, allegedly the mastermind behind the stagecoach theft, was Jupiter Jones. At last report, Blimp and Jones had passed through Kokomo, Indiana, in the stolen stagecoach, en route to San Diego, California.

• J. Worthington Blimp appeared in two 2-page episodes, in New Comics #1, then once each in #2 thru #4, then moved to Comics Magazine #1, May 1936, published by Centaur Publications, for one episode, then ended.
