J. Worthington Blimp src

J. Worthington Blimp was a bulbously-built, chain-smoking braggart, who undertook some well publicized but ill-thought-out athletic endeavors, in the 1930s.

Much to the amusement of his neighbors and associates, J. Worthington Blimp bragged his way into a series of comical predicaments, from which he had some deal of trouble extricating himself.[1]

While attempting to bicycle from New York City to San Diego, he got involved in the theft of a stagecoach and two plow horses, from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Mr. Blimp's accomplice, allegedly the mastermind behind the stagecoach theft, was Jupiter Jones.[2] At last report, Blimp and Jones had passed through Kokomo, Indiana, in the stolen stagecoach, en route to San Diego, California.[3]
