Notes

  • In Real World, Hugo Gernsback was the editor of Amazing Stories, Electrical Experimenter and several others sci-fi and science mags.
  • Assuming the story is canon, there are some continuity errors: the Star-Spangled Kid didn't join the JSA until the '70s, and Doctor Occult was never a member of the JSA, at least in Pre-Crisis.
  • The exact date of this story is never given, but it can be assumed to take place after Doctor Fate's last appearance with his half-helmet in More Fun Comics #98 in 1944 and before his reappearance with the full Helmet of Fate in JSA Returns in 1945.
  • Atom has not developed his powers and atomic punch in this point of time, thus he isn't wearing the Cyclotron-like outfit.
  • Contrary to what one might think at first, Lord Dynamo cannot be seen in this issue; the two cyborgs are Steiner and Clive Burry.

Trivia

  • the Sandman is shown wearing the suit and gas mask. He abandoned it in favor of a golden and purple costume in 1941, before the U.S. entered WWII, but obviously no one wears the same clothes all the time.
  • Alan Scott works at Apex Broadcasting Company in this point of time. He will begins to work at WXYZ Radio in 1946.
