JSA All-Stars #9 is an issue of the series JSA All-Stars (Volume 1) with a cover date of October, 2010. It was published on August 4, 2010.

Synopsis for "Old Friends, New Enemies"

Chimera cradles Cyclone in his arms but Anna Fortune manages to transport the two of them to a safe location so Cyclone can receive medical attention. The remaining JSA members combat the bestial warriors until Henry King shows up and tells them all to stand down. Everyone was shocked to see Henry King in Parandor especially after the ordeal in Kahndaq. Power Girl questions Henry's involvement with the beasts. Henry explains that there are no good people in Parandor. The military junta is corrupt and brutal. The cartels aren't that much different from the military but they do provide for the poor in their controlled areas.

Sandy understands Henry's frustration about first-world media not caring to expose the chaos in Parandor but the JSA wants to know how Henry is involved with these peculiar inhabitants in Parandor. Henry explains that before the corrupt government took power in Parandor, Eclipso was the presiding dictator. Eclipso had a number of projects in the works especially genetic experimentations. Eclipso wanted to breed a cadre of elite mind controlled enforcers that would keep the population of Parandor in check. Eclipso spliced the DNA of Henry's father with certain animals then fertilized four human embryos.

The children that were created from this experiment became so powerful that they even instilled fear in Eclipso. When Eclipso was deposed and the media moved on, the government was left to deal with these forgotten but powerful children. One of the children's creators secretly transported the children to the Izapa temple which was being guarded by her brother Montez who was high up in the cartel. The military killed the scientist and Montez was left with four powerful children. The children mentally cried out to Henry, the only sibling that could sense their presence. The children were terrified of each and what they could do.

After Kahndaq, Henry made his way to Parandor where he established his connection with children and Montez welcomed Henry since he didn't know how to best handle these creations. Henry named each of them after deities in Parandoran myth. The sun king Ah-Kin, the black lord Yum-Kimil, the heartless Nacon and the only female child was named Ix-Chel the Mysterious. Henry has acted as the children's caretaker and teacher during his time with the cartel. Atom Smasher asks why Henry doesn't take the children and leave Parandor since the cartels aren't any better. Henry responds by saying that the children consider the temple as their only home and he can't risk the chance of transporting them because if any one of them becomes agitated, there could be disastrous repercussions.

Power Girl interrupts by saying the cartels have been moving their operations into the United States by distributing a hallucinogenic drug called Izapa. The victims of this drug have all chanted the same names Henry gave to his siblings while exhibiting violent tendencies. Henry is horrified by this revelation because it means the cartels have been siphoning off genetic material from his siblings and corrupting its properties by making a designer drug. However, Henry doesn't know what else to do. He has become his siblings' keeper and in the grand scheme of things, no one really cares about Parandor except Parandor. The poor care for their children without giving thought to the drug running in their areas. They have dreams that their children may one day leave Parandor behind them but those dreams will never come.

Atom Smasher gets in Henry's face about being sanctimonious and Montez overhears the conversation that Henry has with the JSA. Montez orders his men to expedite the next phase in the cartel's plan. Henry then senses his siblings were in distress. Henry and the JSA run into the children's room to find Montez placing magical masks on them. Montez intends to usher in new age of glory for Parador. The masks cause the children to glow and enlarge. Suddenly, the children become giant titans and broke through the temple.

Back in Los Angeles, Hourman takes a trip down memory lane with Citizen Steel, Star Girl and Judomaster. They visit the condemned Stellar Studios which was the original headquarters for Infinity Inc. Stellar Studios is about to be demolished by LexCorp in order to make way for another strip mall. The team then gets a page from Roxy who has calculated the Parandoran cartel's next attack. The team arrives at an abandoned villa where a bunch of drug crazed individuals are riding the same enlarged jaguars from Parandor. Chief Bracken arrives on the scene after the team detained the crazed gang members and jaguars.

As for Chimera and Cyclone, Fortune's transport spell teleports them to a hospital in Ankara, Turkey. Cyclone wakes up after her wounds are mended and Chimera comforts her. Cyclone tells Chimera that when she got maimed by the enlarged jaguar, she began to reevaluate what was most important to her. Cyclone professes her love for Chimera and she can't help but sense that Chimera feels the same way about her but he won't act on it. Chimera is hesitant to say anything but Cyclone says that she is willing to wait until Chimera is willing to open up. Cyclone falls back to sleep and Namita appears before Chimera. Namita brings up the fact that Chimera wanted to be transported to this exact hospital because its the same hospital where Namita died.

Synopsis for "The Inheritance, Part eigth: Avalanche!"

Icicle and Tigress are led through the Alps by a guide. Tigress follows the map directions in Sedgewick's diary and finds St. Urdfelt's hermitage. Tigress places the stone figurine of St. Urdfelt in a small opening. The placement of the figurine activates a secret compartment that reveals a skeleton like key. Tigress notices inscriptions on the key but she can't make it out because the metal has been corroded. Icicle recommends that they take a closer look outside with natural light.

The guide notices that the inscriptions on the key are in Latin. The guide offers to translate since he oddly enough knows how to read and translate Latin. The inscription says "Don't kill the messenger". Tigress wanted to take a closer look but the guide pulls a gun on her. The guide's facial facade fades away and the guide was actually Peter Hayes. Peter holds Tigress at gunpoint and tells Icicle to hand him their torn copy of the diary. Icicle acts fast by trying to freeze Peter before he could transform into a mist.

Peter dodges Icicle's ice blast and shoots Tigress in the arm. Tigress falls to snow with pain and Peter vanishes with the key. Icicle goes to Tigress' aid but then they hear an avalanche. The sound of the gunshot triggered the avalanche. The force of the avalanche was too much for Icicle to handle and Tigress falls off the edge of the mountain. Fortunately, Liberty Belle and Hourman arrive to save Tigress as well as Icicle. Liberty Belle uses her Speed Force to catch Tigress before she could fall to the bottom. Jesse takes Tigress to the nearest hospital to be treated.

The doctors save Tigress' life but they also turn up some startling yet joyous news. The heroes learn that Tigress is pregnant with Icicle's baby. Icicle tells the heroes that he and Tigress have known for a while about the baby but Icicle isn't all that overjoyed. Icicle remembers that his mother died while giving birth to him because his sub-zero cellular structure caused his mother to freeze from the inside. Hourman tells Icicle that the Tachophixyl has healing powers which could protect Tigress when she goes into labor with their child.

Tigress awakes in the hospital with Liberty Belle sitting by her bedside. Jesse tells Tigress that after she left Geneva, she received word that Dr. Hayes had been kidnapped and his files have been stolen. Jesse also informs Tigress that she is aware of the baby. Like Hourman, Jesse has the same idea about using the Tachophixyl to protect Tigress and ensure her baby's delivery. Tigress is taken back by Jesse's offer to help her. Jesse reveals that the key must be taken to the Bone Church in Prague of the Czech Republic where the staff is being hidden.
