Synopsis for "Aftermath"

The New Gods of New Genesis gather to assess the damage caused by their separation from Apokolips. Lightray explains that the breakup caused fire pits to appear, spitting lava, boiling the waters, and melting the south pole. In the middle of the chaos, the Genesisians look at the only one they consider fit to replace Highfather: Scott Free. Scott, however, doesn't want to go ahead with the coronation and feels unfit to fulfill his father's role.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Oberon reunites with Shilo Norman and Ted Brown and is shocked to find another familiar face: his daughter Christine.

On Apokolips, Metron gathers with Desaad to carry on a scheme to rescue Darkseid from the Source Wall.

In New Genesis, with an hour left before the coronation, Orion questions Tigra about what she meant when she said Orion is not Darkseid's son. Tigra explains that when Darkseid threatened to kill her, she pretended to be pregnant to save herself. For that matter, she had an affair with a captain of the imperial guard to bear a child and hide her lies. However, before the child was born, Darkseid put Tigra in a bio-freeze pod for a thousand years and only unfroze her when his power base on Apokolips was strong enough. Orion, however, doesn't buy her story and asks why his true face resembles Darkseid if he isn't his real.

Elsewhere, Scott visits the wizard Shazam and asks him to remove his god powers. Afterward, he attends the coronation, where Takion appoints Scott Free Highfather in front of all New Genesis.

As punishment, Cesare sets a trap for him and makes him fall into Orsini's hold, who torture him to get information about the Borgias.
