Synopsis for "Wednesday's Child"

Oberon recounts one of his early shows with the original Mister Miracle, Thaddeus Brown, and one of his impossible escape acts. Afterward, he explains how he met his wife, Vera Little, and how he abandoned her when she was pregnant.

Back in the day, Oberon, then known as Tom Thumb, ran away from home at the age of sixteen and drifted through different circuses until he met Vera Little, a midget like him. They married, but Vera wanted to have kids. Tom, however, was scared that their child could be physically challenged like them, so he ran away again, leaving his wife pregnant. That's when he met Thadeous Brown, Mister Miracle, and changed his name to Oberon. During his absence, Vera gave birth to Christine, but Oberon never learned about her or that she wasn't born a "freak" like him. Christine grew up among the circus folk, never knowing her father. Eventually, she set off from the circus and took a job, unaware that her mother was sick and dying.

Meanwhile, in New Genesis, Scott and Barda inform Takion that they'll return to Earth, and Scott passes the mantle of Highfather to him. On Earth, Scott and Barda reunite with Oberon and meet Christine. Later, Christine leaves, telling Oberon that she came here only to give him a bunch of letters from her mother. Now that Scott is back in business, Shilo Norman feels his time as Mister Miracle is over, but Ted Brown reassures him that he can come up with something, just like he did with his dad.

Elsewhere, in the star system Paregulon, Metron and Desaad continue the search for the Promethean Giants until they stumble upon a titanic figure.

Back in New Genesis, Lightray learns not only that Valkyra is safe after the cataclysm, but also that she started dating Orion. Lightray gets happy for his friend and departs wishing them the best.
