Synopsis for "Genesis Rising"
The people of Apokolips slowly start picking up the pieces left by the battle between Orion and Kalibak. Orion lashes out and blames Metron for Valkyra's death, who knew she would die but did nothing to prevent it.
Elsewhere, Takion visits the Source Wall, where he only finds the corpses of Darkseid and three other giants. Suddenly, a fifth being approaches and attempts to trespass the Wall, but this creature dies and becomes one with the barrier.
Back on Apokolips, Tigra continues to spread her lies about Orion's true heritage, this time telling her story to Darkseid's Elite.
At the Source Wall, Kalibak activates his machine, which wakes Darkseid from his sleep and makes him break free from the Source. Kalibak confronts his father to claim the right to be his killer, but Darkseid refuses his challenge and uses the Omega Beams to imprison him elsewhere. Metron asks what will be his next scheme to change the universe, but Darkseid says he has no plans and is content with the universe knowing he is back.

Synopsis for "The Guardian of Infinity"
Drax slowly recovers from his wounds and meets Astorr, the Infinity Man, who took care of him. Like him, Astorr also studied the secrets of the Infinity Pit, and ended up stranded on an alien planet out of reality. Drax explains how his brother, Uxas, betrayed him and stole his right to claim the power of the Infinity Pit, becoming the dreaded Lord Darkseid. Weakened by years of solitude, Astorr begins to die and asks Drax to continue is research and take the mantle of the Infinity Man.
