Inside the Source, Takion contacts Highfather, who wakes up from his eternal rest. Highfather's reawakening shakes the Source, and the New Gods sense its effect. While Darkseid is distracted by the Source, Virman Vundabar sneaks behind him and attempts to kill the tyrant. But Darkseid notices Vundabar's approach and uses his Omega Beams to erase him from existence.

Takion returns to New Genesis bearing great news: Highfather is back from the Source. Using his connection to the Source, Takion merges Highfather with his essence, allowing Izaya to have a body again, albeit temporarily. Highfather explains that his time is short and that he must return to the Source. But before leaving again, Highfather restores the celestial city of Supertown and makes it float again on New Genesis' skies.

Synopsis for "Five Times Infinity"

New Genesis, an indeterminate number of years ago. Answering to direct orders from the Source, Highfather gathers five families of New Genesis and tells them that their children will have a special place in the scheme of things. He gives them a piece of a Mother Box to each parent and tells them to bring their kids to him in five years.

Five years later, the children grow up and start their special training. The years that follow, the young Gods learn to focus their minds and synchronize their thoughts. After a decade of training, the young Gods are ready to complete their training. They combine the Mother Box pieces, place their hands against it, and, screaming the word that unifies their minds, bring forth the Infinity Man. Drax explains that as long as he is here, the young gods, who he now calls the Forever People, walk freely and safe in his home world.
