Synopsis for "Schism"

Kalibak learns that Orion is alive, and he's determined to fulfill his "purpose" of killing his half-brother. But Darkseid holds him in chains, saying he has other plans for Orion.

Meanwhile, Lonar investigates the disappearance of a Genesisian. The trail takes him to an underground tunnel dug by Parademons, where he finds the remains of the deceased Harmon. Suddenly, Mad Harriet attacks him by surprise.

In Supertown, Takion informs Highfather that something destroyed Darkseid's fleet, leaving an energy signature similar to the Astro-Force, which seems to incriminate Orion, something Metron confirms to have witnessed. Orion rages at Metron's accusations, but Lonar interrupts them, carrying Mad Harriet prisoner, to warn them about an invasion from Apokolips.

On Earth, Shilo Norman and Ted Brown get acquainted with Oberon's daughter, Christine Little. Her father abandoned her mother while she was still pregnant. Christine's mother never talked about her father but still made her believe he was dead. Recently, her mother died, and Christine found a scrapbook of pictures and articles about the first two Mister Miracles, along with a photo of Oberon's wedding day.

Back on Apokolips, Kalkus informs Darkseid that the universe is collapsing back toward its center. Seeing time is running out, Darkseid sets off to find out where that center is to claim that power.

Big Barda and Mister Miracle find the Female Furies digging a tunnel beneath New Genesis and confront them. Orion joins the battle and slaughters the Parademons, much to their surprise. Scott and Barda try to stop him, but Orion blasts off against the Furies. He suddenly finds Bernadeth, but something makes him stop in his tracks. Darkseid shows up, snatches Orion into his grip, and threatens to kill him. Highfather and Takion arrive in time to stop him and heal Orion of what was ailing him. Using their connection to the Source, they free the two souls trapped in Orion's body: Orion himself and Desaad.
