The Separated Man was one of the first enemies faced by the Teen Titans.
History
The scientist Brian Holmes discovered a way to turn himself into a molecular giant that could separate his body parts. However, he did not have full control, which caused major damage in his home town, the seaside town of Midville. Holmes was sentenced to prison. He continued his research behind bars. His cell mate, Jake Trask, stole a vial shortly before being released on parole.
As the Separated Man returned, he returned to Midville - just as Holmes' son Tommy was elected as teen mayor for a week. Seeing this as a blatant attempt to undermine his tenure, Tommy alerted the Teen Titans. Trask's main concern was finding more of the serum, but Holmes had kept the location of his lab private. He broke out of prison with an anti-serum, hoping to find the Separated Man's weakness - his torso. He aided the youths and the Teen Titans to defeat Trask, who was returned to prison.[1]
