James Gordon is Barbara and Kara Gordon's father.

History

He found the latter when she was being experimented on by Lex Luthor. She was a vulnerable little child who reminded him of his daughter, so he rescued her and raised her as his own child. In order to keep her existence a secret, he altered Kara and Barbara's memories, an action which would haunt him endlessly.

Many years later, Kara was found by the Gardeners. James helped her escape, but he was captured and brought before the Bat, who demanded to know how and why Gordon kept her hidden. Afterwards, the Bat killed James and attempted to frame Kara for his murder.
