In the mid-18th century, starting near Bristol, England, young Jim Hawkins got embroiled in Squire Trelawney's ill-starred expedition to find and recover the lost treasure of the late Captain Flint.

- This version of Jim Hawkins, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
- This character is an adaptation of Jim Hawkins, a character from the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson published in 1883. More information can be found in the Wikipedia.org article Treasure Island.
- Treasure Island ran as a serial in New Fun Comics (Volume 1) then in More Fun Comics (Volume 1), until the eleventh issue, then ended in mid-adaptation, after covering only about the first 1/3 of the novel.
- All but the last three of these episodes were a single page in length; the last three were two pages each.
- The entire adaptation was narrated in captions, with no dialogue bubbles used.
