James Jesse was a self-made entrepeneur who built his own empire by monetizing his past image as the supervillain Trickster. However, 10 years later his fame has decreased immensely, now resorting to scamming old people in what looked like innocent stage tricks. When Snart approached him with promises of big money, Jesse had no choice but to return to the Rogues, fearing for bankruptcy and someone new taking his spotlight.
