The youngest Jordan brother, Jim was always supportive of his older brother Jack's political career. Initially reporter Sue Williams believed that Jim was really the Green Lantern and sought to expose his "secret". Whenever Jim tried to disprove her accusations, some involvement of the Green Lantern would cause Sue to doubt him, unknown to both that Green Lantern was secretly Jim's older brother Hal. Jim went on to date Sue, and the two eventually married.

Jim and his family became aware that Hal was Green Lantern when, after his battle against Atrocitus, Hal disclosed his secret identity to Jim.

During Hal's time as the Spectre, when Jack and Jan Jordan lost their lives in a car crash,[3] Hal, Jack, and Jan encountered Jim as an angel in the afterlife, suggesting that Jim had died at some point.[4] However, when Hal later resumed his role as Green Lantern and moved to Coast City, Jim visited him, then alive and well.[5] Although the two now-living brothers remained on good terms, Jim considered Coast City unsafe and soon left.[6]

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
