Jimmy Olsen is Alpha, the lowest ranking member of the Omega Men.

Jimmy decided to join the Omega Men while doom-scrolling the news and realising that he would want to tell a child of his that he had fought to make a difference when the world went to hell. When he joined, the Omega Men leader Omega Prime told him about the evils of Lazarus Corp and their history of atrocities; as well as a secret government facility called Area 41, a secret military research project called Project Olympus and a billionaire psychopath called The Joker. After that he got a vasectomy so he never would bring a child into a world that had such things in it.[1]

After a few months with the Omega Men; Jimmy joined Omega Prime a mission to ambush Lazarus agent Lois Lane in the slums of Orangi Town in Pakistan. Omega Prime wanted to assassinate Lois but Jimmy believed he could convince her that she was on the wrong side. Omega Prime agreed to let him try, but gave him a strict time limit. Jimmy was unable to get Lois to abandon Lazarus and so Omega Prime attacked her. Jimmy ran in between them and tried to stop the fight, saying they all needed to take a moment to talk.

Suddenly, Superman dropped out of the sky in front of Lois. Omega Prime ran up to him and asked him to come with them so they could fight Lazarus together, but he simply pushed her aside and ordered Lois to stop looking for him. A squad of Peacemakers responded, but Superman froze them solid and leapt away. The Omega Men took the opportunity to escape and Omega Prime berated Alpha for not killing Lois when he had the chance, even striking him across the face, but Jimmy barely noticed as he looked through the photos he had taken of Superman on his phone. After the Peacemakers were freed from the ice one of them, Christopher Smith, massacred a group of onlooker he believed were laughing at him.[2]

The Omega Men tracked Superman to Smallville, Kansas and sent Jimmy to try and convince him to join them. Jimmy met Superman on Smallville's main street outside the Sequoia theatre, but Lois Lane was also there hoping to talk to Superman. They each tried to convince Superman to listen to them but quickly became distracted arguing with each other and Superman disappeared. Lois called out to Superman, believing that he was nearby, and said that she believed he kept coming back to Smallville because he was looking for someone he could trust and said that could be her. Jimmy retorted that Superman had come to fight for Smallville after Lazarus had bought up the town. They argued again until Superman flew down in front of them and yelled at them that he had come to Smallville to stop himself from killing Peacemaker Smith.

Suddenly, Superman was hit in the chest by a bullet made of a mysterious green glowing material which somehow punched through his armour and his invulnerable skin, lodging deep in his chest. He collapsed to the ground and nearby a force of Peacemakers rappelled down from their helicopters onto main street. Jimmy assumed Lois had lead them to Superman and pulled his gun on her. She pointed her own gun at him and denied having anything to do with it. She told him that they would never agree on anything, but if Superman died at their feet while they argued they would regret it for the rest of their lives. They put their conflict aside and carried Superman into a nearby drugstore. Jimmy suggested that he could call the Omega Men to extract them, but before he could do anything Peacemaker Smith, now a powerful cyborg, smashed through the wall and attacked. Superman fought with Smith, but Smith's new strength and the bullet sapping Superman's powers meant the crazed Peacemaker was able to overpower him.

Lois and Alpha ran out to defend Superman, standing between him and Smith. Lois ordered the Peacemakers to arrest Smith for a massacre he had committed in Pakistan but they refused and told her that she would be the one who ended up in a cell if she tried to stop them. A group of Smallville citizens armed with rifles also came out and ordered them all to get out of the town. One of the Peacemakers suggested to Smith that they simply take superman and go but smith refused as he wanted to kill Superman then and there. Superman activated his armour's battle configuration and summoned up a cyclone of red dust that scattered everyone except for him and Smith. He hit Smith a thousand times in thirty seconds, bringing the mad behemoth to his knees, but Smith just mocked Superman for being afraid of his own rage and power and shot Superman repeatedly with the irradiated bullets. The armour's systems failed and Superman collapsed. Although he still tried to resist, he was helpless and Smith moved in for the kill.

Fortunately, before Smith could finish Superman off, he was remotely shut down as Lazarus Corp's director wanted him taken alive. Realising he would likely die without immediate medical attention, Superman weakly asked Jimmy to get him out of there. Jimmy called in the Omega Men who teleported in via Boom Tube and carried Superman to safety through it, but refused to let Lois follow.[3]

The Omega Men took Superman to their headquarters, a decommissioned Lazarus oil rig; and successfully removed the bullets from his body using a mysterious piece of advanced technology which the Omega Men knew only as "The Box". Superman started going on missions with the Omega Men, although he refused to kill or allow them to kill anyone. After returning from another mission in Karachi, Superman asked Jimmy if he knew anything about the Box. Jimmy could only tell him rumors he had heard from the others: that it fell from space, that it had been buried for millions of years, and that Primus believed it came from God. Superman revealed that the Box had told him it was a Father Box, and when it healed him it had shown him a vision of Earth in the future with fire pits the size of oceans and endless slums filled with tormented masses. Jimmy predicted that he had seen what would happen if Lazarus was not stopped, since Primus said that Lazarus' director Ra's al Ghul was a dangerous maniac. Superman asked Jimmy if he trusted Primus and Jimmy honestly replied that the Omega Men may go too far sometimes, but after seeing the scale of the evil they faced he wasn't sure if "too far" was far enough. However, he also advised Superman not to trust anyone on Earth.

Primus came up and told them that a group of protestors in Orangi Town calling for Smith's arrest had been violently attacked by the Peacemakers and many of them had been taken prisoner. She ordered a full mobilisation, including Jimmy, to rescue the prisoners; saying it was his last chance to rise above the rank of Alpha. Superman volunteered to come, as he owed Primus a debt, but once again insisted on no killing.

Superman and the Omega Men fought their way back into the Peacekeeper base in Karachi, but found that the protestors had already been murdered. More Peacemakers ran in and in a rage Primus attacked two of them, disarming them and knocking them to the ground. She picked up a dropped gun and attempted to execute them with it, but Superman caught the bullet at the last moment. The Omega Men fought off the second wave of Peacemakers and escaped back to the oil rig. However, in the confusion Jimmy was left behind. He was captured and taken to a Lazarus facility to be interrogated by Lois Lane. She ordered him to tell her everything he knew about Superman while he still could.[1]
