James Olsen alias Guardian was a vigilante and member of the Freedom Fighters that opposed the Nazis on Earth-X.

History

James grew up in Earth-X under the tyranny of the Nazi regime. Being a man of color, it is assumed that he must have suffered a lot from the Nazis.

At some point James joined the Freedom Fighters and adopted the alias Guardian as a vigilante. James carved the old American flag into his armor, feeling that the flag once represented something and that he could still represent it again.

James was in a secret laboratory of the Freedom Fighters where a portal to the multiverse was being created to search for allies on other lands to help them defeat the Nazis, but Dark Arrow, the Führer of Earth-X broke into the facility, killing all the insurgents.

Finally only Guardian was left to face Dark Arrow. Both men fought a brief duel that ended with the Führer stabbing Guardian and later unmarking him and pinning him to the ground. With his last strength Guardian warned that one day the Freedom Fighters would liberate Earth-X. Dark Arrow executed him next.
