Janet Drake was Tim Drake's mother.

History

Janet was heavily involved in the business of Drake Industries. Although her marriage to Jack Drake was initially romantic, it eventually became strictly professional as Jack Drake became progressively more emotionally and verbally abusive.

Due to their business and interest in archaeology, they travelled frequently. They were kidnapped during one of these trips by the voodoo cultists known as the Obeah Man. After making a ransom demand to Drake Industries, Obeah Man prepared to sacrifice the Drakes in a dark ritual. Batman arrived in time to save them, but their desperation drove them to drink what they thought was water, but was actually poison. This resulted in Janet's death and left Jack in a long-term coma. Janet was buried on Christmas Eve.
