Jarl Roman, also known as Black Mask, was the warlord of Svartfjell in Jarnlünd.

History

Vandal Savage invaded Black Mask's territory. In the ensuing battle Black Mask was assassinated by The Deathstroke and his men broke and fled. As they retreated they were slaughtered to a man by Killer Frost.

• Black Mask was created by Doug Moench and Tom Mandrake, first appearing in Batman #386. However, the Dark Knights of Steel version of Black Mask first appeared in Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #1 by Jay Kristoff and Tirso Cons.
