Jarvis Kord was an evil scientist who plotted to take over the world.

History

Jarvis tricked his nephew Ted Kord into helping him with his scientific experiments. In really, he was creating virtually indestructible robotic creatures with which he planned to rule humanity. He faked his death and absconded to his secret lair on Pago Island. Ted, along with his former college professor Dan Garrett, began to investigate Jarvis' activities and discovered Jarvis and his robots deep within the mountain on Pago. Dan became Blue Beetle but both he and Jarvis were killed during the confrontation. Ted barely escaped and vowed to honor Dan's sacrifice by becoming the second Blue Beetle.
