Jason Woodrue was Poison Ivy's former university professor and lover.
History

Jason was romantically involved with one of his students, Pamela Isley, but he kept their relationship a secret because he could lose his grant, as he was already on thin ice due to not having any worthwhile research ideas. When Pamela showed him Frank, a plant-human hybrid that she created by herself, Jason tried to steal her work and pass it off as his own. During the struggle, toxic chemicals were spilled and Jason left her to die. However, Pamela survived by taking the special serum that she used to create Frank and became Poison Ivy. Afterward, she tried to expose him, but nobody believed her over the brilliant Professor Woodrue.[1]
Jason later reunited with Pamela after she joined the Metropolis Green Initiative project, unaware that her former professor was part of it. She pretended to have forgiven Jason to get him alone and then subjected him to the same chemicals she was exposed to, hoping he would die. But unbeknownst to her, the DNA from her vines and the chemicals turned him into Floronic Man.[1]
When she started being haunted by visions of Jason, Poison Ivy went to The Green to mediate, but Jason attacked her there and revealed that he survived. Since he was much stronger than her, Pamela was at his mercy. Frank eventually went into the Green to help Ivy while Harley searched for Jason's physical body. Jason recognized Frank but became disappointed due to how pathetic he became. Just as he was about to kill Ivy, Harley found his body and cut it to pieces, killing him.[2]
