Synopsis for "The Coming Dread"
Ever since his daughter Judy came home, Jay Garrick has been remembering previously erased memories; not just of Judy, but adventures he had back in World War II. Most recently he has suddenly remembered a mission the Justice Society had in 1941 where they attacked a secret base in Germany, guarded by a cyborg bear known as "Ro-Bear". They believed it was a Nazi facility holding the Spear of Destiny, but in fact they found an unfamiliar emblem with the letters "ISA" on the wall. Ro-Bear told them that the emblem was the "death of you all", and teleported away.
In the present day, Jay takes Judy to S.T.A.R. Labs in Detroit to be checked out; they give her a clean bill of health but Jay is still concerned. When they get home, Judy asks if she can go out with Stargirl and Joan tells her she can before Jay can object. Jay is nervous at letting Judy go out on her own, but Joan assures him she can look after herself and makes him sit down and drink his coffee.
Courtney takes Judy to Keystone City Mall, which she is dazzled by, as there was nothing like it in the sixties. They have fun shopping for clothes and then go to the food court, where Judy gorges herself on multiple fast food meals. Back at the Garrick house, Jay is clearly on edge and Joan eventually lets him go and check on Judy, but tells him not to let her see him. He runs to the mall and watches Judy and Courtney from the floor above, and sees that she is fine and having fun. However, Ro-Bear suddenly bursts in through the wall and charges at the girls. Jay runs down and pulls them out of the way at the last second, revealing that he was following them much to Judy's displeasure. The three of them battle Ro-Bear and eventually beat him down. He teleports away, warning them that his employer will come after them soon.
