Houngan is a scientific occultist and member of the Brotherhood of Evil.

Droo held a position of power in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, from where he was recruited—via the mangled head of the Brain,[1] former leader of the Brotherhood of Evil[2]—into General Immortus' reformed Brotherhood. Using Lazarus Resin supplied by Immortus and the disinterred body of Dorothy Spinner,[3] Droo conducted a ritual which transferred the Candlemaker entity from the deceased psychic's mind into the General's, succeeding despite the intervention of the Brotherhood's foes the Doom Patrol. Though the Patrol ultimately defeating the merged "Eternal Flame," they allowed Droo to flee via his teammate Warp's portals.[4]

A mask worn by Houngan came into the possession of the Titans, and was kept in the superhero team's trophy room on Mars.[5]
