Jean-Paul Valley is Azrael. He was once an agent of the Order of St. Dumas before defecing and joining the Batman Family.

History

Jean-Paul Valley was conditioned by the Order of St. Dumas to become the newest incarnation of Azrael. He served as their angel of death until he encountered Batman. Seeing the error of his ways, he left the order and elected to become a part of Batman's family.
