Jeffrey "PJ" Holt is the long-lost son of Mister Terrific. He follows in his father's footsteps under the alias Fairplay.

Jeffrey's mother was killed in a car crash engineered by Granny Goodness while she was pregnant with him. Jeffrey was presumed killed in the crash but in fact Granny teleported from his mother's womb before she died. Granny told Jeffrey and the other boys she had taken that they were orphans. She raised them to be the start of the Furious; a private army under her control, separate from Darkseid's forces.[1]

When Jeffrey and the others were about ten, Granny "took in" another baby, Wade West. Granny had attempted to fake Wade's death like the others but she failed and so his family knew he had been taken.[2] Wade's father The Flash followed Granny to the Palace of Eternity with a host of other heroes. including Jeffrey's father Mister Terrific, to rescue Wade. He chased Granny and Wade into the Forever Corridor while Jeffrey and the Furious fought the Flash's allies.

Wally eventually returned with Wade. The Furious demanded to know where Granny was and he told them that she abandoned them, and that they were not orphans but were stolen from their real families. This was confirmed when a DNA scan revealed that Jeffrey was Mister Terrific's son. They fled the collapsing Palace and, after months of adventures across time and space, managed to find their way back to Earth in the 21st Century.[1]

Jeffrey moved in with his father at the Terrifictech building in Central City. He quickly became best friends with the equally brilliant Quiz Kid, the sidekick of the original Mister Terrific, who had also recently returned to the world after his own long-term kidnapping.[3]
