"A Tale of Two Cities": A young boy plays with friends in a ballpark, then everything freezes. He knows what's happening, as it has happened to him before.

Quote1 Who would believe cities were just great, big, living battle-suits we just haven't figured out how to operate yet? Colossal war-machines with heads and hearts and a blood-supply rushing around in the form of millions of tiny people? No wonder nobody breathed a word about what really happened on the night a future city with a bad attitude came back to kick the arse of the 20th century. They'd have been sodding certified. Quote2

Synopsis for "A Tale of Two Cities"

A young boy plays with friends in a ballpark, then everything freezes. He knows what's happening, as it has happened to him before.

The boy's surroundings then shift; he is in a tank with alien devices surrounding him. Everything goes dark. He regains consciousness, and finds himself back in the ballpark, naked and covered in an alien substance.

24th February 1976. Jenny is in Russia, speaking with scientists about a strange man held in a containment cube. The scientists inform her that the man in the cube is known as Jack Hawksmoor. For as long as Jack can remember, he has been abducted by aliens from the future. Their intention is to evolve Jack so that he can combat a lifeforce that has already obliterated the 70th Century.

Jack is abducted once more whilst in the company of Jenny. Jenny inquires the scientists how often this occurs, and is told it happens every couple of hours. The scientists are pessimistic over Jack's chances of survival. Jenny is taken from the lab into a hall filled with super beings who have been called in to help prevent the future threat from the 70th century. Jenny is then told she was drafted to lead this army into battle. She resists at first, but quickly issues demands if she is to lead the team, stating the team needs her more than she needs the team.

3rd March 1976. A fleet of ships head toward an undisclosed location. Jenny waits for the enemy to arrive. The enemy appears. Jenny inquires about the enemy and is told that it is the city of Kansas City, now a sentient, living city.

The city opens fire on the ships. Jenny order the jets in, followed quickly by the heroes.

As the battle ensues, Jenny converts herself to her energy form and attacks the city, but is repelled. Jenny orders Jack into the battle.

Nearby, Japan starts to shake, growing and evolving into a humanoid form, until it stands up and grabs Kansas City. Jack, now merged with the city, has turned it into a giant battle-suit. Jack uses Japan to smash Kansas to pieces.

November 1976. One of Jenny's demands is met: Gerald Ford lost his reelection and Jimmy Carter is instead elected as president. Going forward, everyone involved against the future Kansas City are unaware of Jack's location since the incident in the South Pacific. Jenny only hopes that he is happy, wherever he is.
