The impending threat of a nuclear war urged young Jeremy to write a letter to Superman, through the Daily Planet, asking him to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
History
However, the paper's new owner, David Warfield, arranged for a false reply (in an attempt to sell papers) where Superman told the kid to drop dead.
Ultimately, Superman agreed and met up with Jeremy at the United Nations, where Superman announced his intent to rid the world of all nuclear weapons.
Notes
- Jeremy was portrayed by Damien McLawhorn.
Trivia
- The film's original ending had Superman arrive at Jeremy's school and fly the boy into space, where Jeremy could see the world as Superman sees it: No visible boarders. Just one complete world. This scene was deleted from the final film.
