Jess Chambers, better known as Kid Quick, is a member of the Earth 11's Teen Justice.
History
Origin
They're Justice Guild member Jesse Quick's nibling, and, just like their aunt, they use the formula 3X2(9YZ)4A to access the Speed Force--and also the counter-formula Z25Y(2AB)6 for the opposite effect (it is enough that the formulas are said or heard to have resulted). Supergirl was surprised that they were even faster than her mother.[1]
Teen Justice
On New Year's Eve, Jess teamed up with a bunch sidekicks of the Justice Guild members in Gotham City to save their mentors, who were being controlled by Starrla the Star Conqueress and her drones. After fighting their mentors and freeing them, Jess and the other young heroes formed a new superhero team.[1]
During a pride parade, Kid Quick stopped Shimmer from stealing the goggles of Dr. Mid-Nite as they were on display. As the rest of the Fearsome Five showed up, Jess received backup from Teen Justice. Following the fight, the team briefly met Raven before he disappeared.[2]
The team would go on to rescue Dr. Shyla Stone from members of H.I.V.E., during said mission, Jess also rescued a girl named Georgia. During a team building exercise, Teen Justice discovered that Supergirl and Robin went on a mission to patrol S.T.A.R. Labs where they were attacked by Thunder and Lightning. The team was then alerted by Raven about the Church of Blood.[3]
After sending Troy and Raven undercover to become members of the church, Kid Quick and most of Teen Justice traveled to the island nation of Zandia, where Jess found a bunch of corpses on the island which were actually kids that rapidly aged. Teen Justice then encountered Thunder and Lightning, who help them traveled across Zandia and discover that the original leaders of the Church of Blood died, leaving into question who was running the church now.[4]
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Speed Force Conduit: Jess uses the Speed Formula 3X2(9YZ)4A to access the Speed Force, a mysterious cosmic force that pushes time and space itself forward. As a conduit of the Speed Force, all aspects of Jesse's physiology are accelerated and enhanced.[1]
- Superhuman Speed: Jess is capable of moving at incredible superhuman speeds. Supergirl noticed that they are faster than Superwoman.[1]
- Superhuman Reflexes: Jess's reflexes are heightened immeasurably, allowing them to dodge or react faster than normal.[1]
- Superhuman Stamina: The Speed Force grants Jesse a great increase in stamina, allowing them to fight or run much longer than the average person. Although a great increase, it is not unlimited.[1]
- Superhuman Agility: Jess's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows them to easily maneuver while moving at superhuman speed.[1]
- Speed Force Aura: The Speed Force manifests an aura around Jess and whatever they are carrying, protecting them from adverse effects of their speed, such as friction with the air.[1]
- Superhuman Durability: The Speed Force Aura also protects Jess from kinetic impacts, which in turn, makes them much more durable and resistant to injury than any normal human.
- Electrokinesis: As a conduit of the Speed Force, Jess's body generates large amounts of the electrical energy that they draw from the Speed Force. This Speed Force lightning emanates off of them, especially when moving at superhuman speed.[1]
- Vortex Creations: Jess is able to create vortices of air by running in circles or rotating their extremities at super-speed. These vortices can be used for a number of effects.
- Molecular Acceleration: Jess can vibrate their body at various frequencies for a number of purposes.[5]
- Superhuman Strength: Jess can use their speed to augment their strength. They have been able to rip Stela in two, snap Kyle DeWitt's limbs without much effort and knock down Kilowog with a single blow.[7]
Weaknesses
- Hyper-Metabolism: Jess must regularly consume vast quantities of calories to fuel their speed.[8]
- Vulnerability to Counter-formula: Being exposed to the formula Z25Y(2AB)6 causes them to lose their connection to the Speed Force.[1]
