"Buckskin Jim" Kenyon was a young frontiersman, with good fighting skills, and was armed with a handgun and a knife. He roved the Old West of the 1840s.
History
Jim Kenyon was bound for California, when he rescued an old man, Trapper Pete, from dying in quicksand. Together, they saved a wagon train from the attack of an Indian tribe that had kidnapped them. But during the foiled attack, Mary Halliday was kidnapped, and Jim, together with Pete and Mary's father, Zeb Halliday, had to save her.[1][2]
Jim got separated from the wagon train when he fell into a river while being attacked by a cougar, he was rescued by Dan, another trapper. The pair found a wounded Indian, and helped him return to his camp.[3][4]
In the Indian camp, Jim discovered that Mary had once again been kidnapped, this time by Pierre, the traitorous scout of the wagon train. Jim, with the help of Dan, killed Pierre and returned with Mary to their wagon train.[5][6]
Jim was inducted to an Indian tribe he encountered, but this did not sit well with one of the tribe members, Little Wolf. During one of their fights, Little Wolf fell into a river, Jim rescued him and they made peace.[7][8]

- This version of Buckskin Jim, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
