John Chase was the father of Titans member Danny Chase.
History
He and his wife Cherie Chase were agents for the Central Bureau of Investigation under King Faraday and trained their son to follow in their footsteps.
John and Cherie were once kidnapped by the international mercenary Godiva, but were rescued by their son and the Titans.[1] Later, while working under Sarge Steel, John and Cherie uncovered the Janus Directive, leading to an internal war between Checkmate, the Suicide Squad, and the Captain Atom Project. The two of them were captured by the Directive's mastermind, Kobra.[2] They were tortured by Kobra's forces, but were rescued when the Squad, Checkmate, and their superhero allies defeated the villain.[3]

- John presumably carries the Metagene, since his father Franklin's genetics were altered by radiation while working on the Manhattan Project, leading to John's son Danny developing super-powers. However, John has no powers of his own.
- John refers to Adrian Chase as Danny's "uncle", but he and Adrian have different fathers, so they can't be brothers.
