John Grayson was the father of Dick Grayson, better known as Robin.
History
John, Mary, and Dick Grayson were a team of circus acrobats known as the Flying Graysons. When Dick was a boy, he watched as the trapeze broke as his parents performed without him in the ring, plummeting to their deaths and leaving him an orphan. After their deaths, Dick was raised by Batman and trained to be a vigilante.
Every year on the anniversary of their deaths, Dick became withdrawn with sadness. As observed by Batman himself, Robin's new team Teen Titans were a good influence on him to share his grief with others instead of harboring on his parents' death like Bruce had. [1]
