Due to his indomitable will, John Stewart was deputized as Green Lantern. He served as a member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Super Friends.[1]
History
Nothing to Fear
Thanks to his charity work, Green Lantern was given the key to Coast City. They award was rigged by Scarecrow to expose him to fear toxin. John attacked his fellow Super Friends, thinking they were monsters, until Wonder Woman used her Lasso of Truth to dispel the illusion. They tracked down Scarecrow, only for them to be exposed to fear toxin that gave them power-dampening phobias. Together, they overcame their fears and captured the mad chemist.[2]
Double Trouble
After a mission with their team, Green Lantern and The Flash were abducted by their rivals, Sinestro and Professor Zoom. Using a machine from the 25th Century, they erased John's ability to use his ring and Wally's ability to use his super-speed while they masqueraded as them. The two ended up briefly switching powers to escape their imprisonment. Green Lantern and The Flash then ambushed their nemeses and sent them off to jail.[3]
