Dr. John Thesson was an young American archaeologist who found the Ring of Poseidon while on a dig in Isle of Crete, Greece. Revealed as the reincarnation and descendant of the Greek hero Theseus, first owner of the Ring of Poseidon, Thesson pledges himself to "endless combat against tyranny, crime and destruction" as the modern Theseus, Son of the Gods.[1]

Thesson was considered in a potential list of suspects that The Terror and Tim Roland reviewed, but no one had seen him since the 1960s, and he was disregarded by The Terror, who called him "a muscle-bound oaf with delusions of grandeur".[2]
