In the future, Joker would disappear until Damian Wayne's tenure as Batman.
Around the time Dick Grayson became Batman, Joker went into retirement. After the emergence of a second Joker, the original returned to action, with his first act being the execution of his self-proclaimed successor. Years later, Joker possessioned Tim Drake and took over Jokerz, often coming in conflict with the new Batman, Terry McGinnis.
