Joker was a serial killer and archenemy of Batman
History
He successfully killed at least one Robin, prior to the death of Batman before or during the takeover of Gotham by the Collective. Without his archrival, Joker tried to find other enemies to challenge and foes to outwit, but found them all lacking and left the life of crime, spending his days as a sad and lonely clown.
