The Joker was a clown-themed anarchist who spread his word throughout the Internet. Using his followers, he incited Fool's Night, a night of violent chaos across Gotham. After tricking Batman into getting Commissioner Gordon killed, Joker fought his archenemy one final time, blowing both of them up.

On Fool's Night, Joker played his final video in Gotham Square. After a speech about breaking from the shackles of society, Joker commanded his followers into donning clown masks and starting a wave of anarchy across the city. [1]

Confronting the Bat-Family on the rooftop of the GCPD, Joker gave Batman a sadistic choice: if the Bat-Signal is turned on, he'll call his followers off, but Commissioner Gordon, tied to the signal, will die. Joker also revealed that he had deduced Batman's true identity. Batman tried to cut the wires, but it was a trap, and Gordon was burnt to death. Tackled by the hero, Joker proclaimed life was one big joke and that he was "tired of laughing," and a timer bomb on his flower lapel exploded, killing both of them.[2]
