Joker Jr. is the son of Harley Quinn and the mass-murdering criminal The Joker.

Joker Jr. was born after The Joker, who had manipulated Harley Quinn into re-entering a life of crime, impregnated her without her knowing. Harley out of shame refused to accept the child and gave him up. He grew up being transferred from various orphanages and foster homes to people who never loved him. As a result, Joker Jr. grew up with hatred and determination to take revenge on his mother, making himself look like the Joker upon realizing he looked like Harley, resulting in his face being scarred and disfigured.[1]

Joker became the boss of the Laughing Boys who claimed to work for the real Joker.[2] He directed them to bring Harley to her and they eventually succeeded, though this will burn a hole in Joker Jr.'s pocket due to the amount of time and equipment the task required.[3][1] He then activated the terror cells of the Laughing Boys across the cities of the United States of America to create mayhem and murder, while publicly proclaiming himself to be the real Joker on television.[1]

As he confronted his mother, Harley's allies found her and informed her that they had found Joker's body. Joker Jr. then revealed himself to be Harley's son who she had abandoned as an infant. As Harley tried to convince him to give her a second chance, the Laughing Boys leader Fleck stated it was too little and too late for that but was killed by Joker Jr. before he could kill her. Batman however soon interrupted the mother and son's reconciliation, believing him to be the real Joker. Joker Jr. was ready to give himself up out of guilt for his crimes, but Harley made him come along with her to Coast City so she could rehabilitate him.[1]
