Jor-El (Adventures of Superman)

Asked by the council to investigate strange phenomenon, occurring all over the planet Krypton, Jor-El discovered that their planet was doomed. He made plans to construct a fleet of spaceships, to rescue their people. Sadly, the council didn't believe him, even laughing at him.

When later Jor-El prepared to launch a model rocket, he had constructed, Krypton began to be destroyed. He begged Lara to take the ship to safety, but she convinced him that their son should be sent instead of her.

This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Adventures of Superman and is an adaptation of Jor-L. The original character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in the Superman comic strip.
Jor-El was portrayed by Robert Rockwell.
