Jor-El (All-Star Superman)

Jor-El was the father of Superman. Together with his wife Lara, he sent their son to safety before perishing in the destruction of the planet.

Jor-El, alongside his wife Lara, knew that Krypton was doomed to destruction. To save their son Kal-El, he created a rocket that would bring Kal to a planet where he would receive extraordinary powers from its yellow sun.

After Superman died, he hallucinated having lived all his life on Krypton with his parents. Jor-El knew the truth and informed his son that he was dying. Jor-El then gave Kal an offer, finish his transformation into "solar radio-consciousness", or fight against one final evil.
