Synopsis for "Fight to the Finish"

In the wake of the incident of Hourman's capture which cost the lives of several policemen and a photographer, King Faraday, on orders from President Eisenhower, debrief Superman and Wonder Woman in seeing the apprehension of the Batman, who is branded as an outlaw by the American government after non-federal sponsored heroes are made illegal in order to quell the growth of vigilantism, and to avoid the public's notice. However, Diana refuses to take part in hunting down an honorable man and sees nothing good coming out of this.

Batman, in turn, is already prepared for facing Superman - as being Bruce Wayne, he was present in hosting Faraday's operation at Paradise Island beforehand - in which he hires Catwoman in stealing Kryptonite from Lex Luthor. Superman confronts Batman at a junkyard outside of Gotham where the latter surprises the Man of Steel. Batman lures Superman to the Batcave where he springs his trap by shooting the stolen Kryptonite into Superman, weakening him. But the battle is interfered by Wonder Woman, who prevents Superman and Batman from fighting each other and criticizing them for what they doing; pointing out the three of them are the only active superheroes left and want to band together to do what is right. Superman, however, is distrustful of cooperating with Batman for almost killing him and hiding his face behind a mask. In response, Batman agrees with Wonder Woman's proclamation and earning the other heroes' trust by revealing his identity as Bruce Wayne to them. To conceal their alliance, Superman and Batman play out a mock epic battle in public in which the latter "beaten" the former.

With the absence of Batman for a few days, Robin investigate in the theft of stolen explosives which led to a gang of street rodders that recently blew into Gotham. Robin decides to go in undercover as one of the rodders and enters a drag race with a young boy named Wally Wood. As the race start, Wally's car is sabotaged which careens to a ledge. Robin takes the initiative in jumping to Wally's car before it falls, but find Wally suddenly gone. Robin is forced to leave the scene when the police arrive on the scene. The Boy Wonder figures that one of the rodder, Butch, rigged the race and learns that he has something to do with the explosives at an old radio transmitter. Though Robin is left wondering what had happened to Wally.

Robin arrives at the transmitter where he finds Butch and his accomplice Adam already tied up, and meeting the speedster Kid Flash, who was actually Wally and is also on Robin's investigation in which he interrogated Butch that reveals they sold the explosives to foreigners. Robin then pieces together that Butch and Adam came to the transmitter to see the explosion to be at a nearby airfield, which is secretly being used as a refueling site for Air Force One that is en route for Washington and is being planned to land with the President on board.

Robin and Kid Flash race to the airfield where the former search for the explosives and the latter creating a giant word of warning to Air Force One, preventing the plane from landing and saving the President. Robin and Kid Flash then proceeds in taking care of the thieves, who are revealed to be a ring of communist saboteurs. Later on Robin, as Dick Grayson, writes down in his journal about his unexpected team-up with Kid Flash, citing that they made a great team.
