The Justice League is a team of superheroes dedicated to protecting Earth from powerful threats no one of them could defeat alone. Operating out of their orbiting satellite Watchtower, they were initially a group of seven led by Superman, before greatly expanding their numbers after the Thanagarian invasion. In the future, they would be succeeded by the Justice League Unlimited.
