Synopsis for "The Witching War, Part 1"

Diana is sleeping in the Hall of Justice when while dreaming she has an apparition of Giovanni Zatara: the sorcerer utilized what little Diana knew of him to manifestate to her, as a burning man in Wintersgate Manor. Still, he wants to deliver her a message: while Zatanna has the power to save magic, she has the power to doom it. She thinks that Hecate and Chaos left no mark in her, but she's wrong. She must stay alert: she has one real enemy to fear, and it's not the one she thinks about. If that enemy completes the creation of her army, Diana's fate will be doomed and so the fate of all magic. When Diana pronounces the name of the Upside-Down Man, the creature manifests. The monster is amused by Giovanni and threatens to eat him, but the sorcerer makes Diana wake up. In distress, Diana calls Zee for information, but the team is fighting a squad of vampires in Romania, and would like some time to handle it.

The team, thanks to an enchantment by Kent and Khalid who evoked a little sun, defeats the vampires. Meanwhile, Diana and Constantine are in the Oblivion Bar, where it seems clear the enemy Giovanni was talking about was Circe. Wonder Woman needs to meet as soon as possible with the team, but she tells John she knows he's way more implied in the whole thing, and she will find out what he wants to keep hidden. In the headquarters, Bobo tells the others that these vampires were different and that something which was not a vampire sent and controlled them. He's right: it was Klarion the Witch Boy, who is discovered by Man-Bat. Klarion uses a spell to confound Kirk and to convince him about making a serum so scary that his teammates will remain impressed. Then, he disappears, telling he's going to join the others: he's one member of Circe's own team, together with Papa Midnite, Floronic Man, Solomon Grundy and Teekl, Klarion's cat. But Circe is still trying to bring a final member to the fold: a creature the heroes call Eclipso.
