Synopsis for "The Witching War, Part Five"
In the Collective Unconscious, the Upside-Down Man wants to strike a deal with Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, the Injustice League Dark finds a way to resurrect Drakul Karfang, offering Diana's body in exchange of his help in striking down the defenses of Kent Nelson that are making impossible for the team to get to the room where the Black Diamond of Eclipso is stored. Inside this room the rest of the team, minus Diana who is trapped away from them, try to think about what to do to counter the enemy: Bobo has been reverted back to a primal state by Circe and cannot help and Zatanna then tells John Constantine she hopes he has some kind of crazy plan to bring them out of this mess. Constantine suggests a possible solution, and as always is a completely unwise one: they should use all the weapons the League stored in this warehouse to their advantage.
In the Collective Unconscious, Diana tells the Upside-Down Man she knows why he's like this: he was the counterpart of Hecate and he was supposed to bring balance, but couldn't because the witch-goddess herself banished him from reality. Diana tells him that she will find balance, and will make him and Hecate's power a whole again. The creature does not believe it possible, but they bot come to an agreement: if Diana is right and balance can exist, the Upside-Down Man will welcome it, but if she fails then she will not interfere in the consuming of the world perpetrated by the Otherkind. Diana accepts, and the Upside-Down Man, to seal the deal and once again demonstrate his resolve, eats the spirit of Rebecca Carstairs, still trapped inside the dimension.
Meanwhile, Khalid Nassour decides to take the burden of the Helmet of Fate for himself: he knows Nabu, he knows he's overly rational and cold but he also knows that he can be a mentor and that he understands the difference between right and wrong. Trusting himself to being capable of bringing a new kind of Fate and Order in magic, Khalid calls for desperate measures in desperate times, and becomes the new Doctor Fate.
