Synopsis for "As Above, so Below"

The Justice League Dark just resolved a planetary crisis after re-establishing the Parliaments of Life, but now the team is in shambles. John Constantine left after he once again lied to them and Zatanna almost died. Detective Chimp is searching for the team's leader, Wonder Woman, finding her on a rooftop. Bobo is afraid that Diana might have lost hope, and in some way Wonder Woman did: she thinks she made a bad job in her role as leader, given the current state of the team. Bobo tries to reassure her, and so starts telling her how the other members of the team are living these moments.

A few days before, The Oblivion Bar

Bobo encountered Zatanna to deliver her a drawing of the Seal of Solomon, a powerful image used to perform complicate magic. Opening it, a demon that guarded it appeared and both Bobo and Zee had to defeat him. Once the fight was over, Zatanna kissed Bobo on his forehead, leaving after explanations regarding why she needed the Seal. Curious by nature, the Detective followed her and discovered she was inside the theater where she and her father performed. He left, as he did not want to spy on her, and so he does not know that Zatanna is trying in every way possibile to free her father from the prison of the Otherkind and the Upside-Down Man. Zatanna is trying to enter the Other Place, but without success. Even after failing again, the sorceress will not give up.

Moments later, in the Hall of Justice

Bobo tried to talk with Man-Bat about what Zee's intentions might have been, but his friend was too much immersed in his work, as he started to study samples from the new Swamp Thing, discovering he's currently re-growing the Green in places around America. Turning to Khalid, Bobo still could not find a friend to talk with, as the kid was occupied with his mentor, Kent Nelson. Kent decided he wanted to live, as now he was free of Nabu. He told Khalid that the Helmet of Fate is as much a blessing as it is a prison: sharing his life with Nabu and knowing every single detail of the magical world won't be an easy thing to sustain. Kent sacrificed a lot for this responsibility and now wants a chance to love again. He bode farewell to Khalid and left. In the end, Bobo decided to search Diana and address her to solve the mystery behind Zatanna's actions.

Back to the Rooftop

Bobo tells Diana that he knows she's the only one that can lead them: she's the only person he knows that can take the burden of decisions that might change the world, facing them with courage. So, Diana decides to go to Zatanna and reveal her that, as she still possesses a piece of Hecate's soul inside herself, she is the key to access the Other Place, being that Hecate and the Upside-Down Man are mirror images of each other. Diana tells Bobo he must stay behind, trusting him to take Khalid and organize a line of defense in case she and Zatanna fail in their mission. Leaving, Bobo of course decides he will not leave Diana and Zee alone, and so he decides to get in contact with a dear former teammate: the Hellblazer, John Constantine. Meanwhile, Diana and Zatanna are in the Other Place, where magic lives free and uncontrolled: once there, in the distance, they see a man constantly burning in flames. He's Zatanna's father, Giovanni.
