The Justice League Europe is the primary superhero team of France.
History
Animal Man, a member of an earlier incarnation of the Justice League Europe that included the Elongated Man, Metamorpho, and Rocket Red,[1] joined Superman and the JLI in an ineffectual confrontation with the Brotherhood of Dada over the Painting That Ate Paris.[2] The Justice League Europe fought the supervillain the Time Commander, damaging the villain's time-controlling hourglass.[1] The JLE embassy was destroyed by the power rod of the inept Beefeater.[3]
After the superhero the Crimson Fox was cleared of murder, she was quickly designated as the leader of a Paris-based Justice League Europe composed of Fleur-de-Lis, the Hunchback, the Musketeer, Nightrunner, and Thief of Arts.[4] The League's Fleur-de-Lis participated in an international battle between metahumans fought in Washington, D.C. over crimes purportedly committed by Superman.[5]
Notes
- Justice League Europe was created by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, first appearing in Justice League International #24. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Justice League Europe first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Doomsday Clock #5 by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.
