- It was like looking at the other half of my own soul. It was eerie, Lois. Unsettling. But it was also... wonderful.

Synopsis for "The Mirror Crack'd"
On the alternate universe Earth-D, people have been disappearing and being replaced by confused and frightened strangers. The world's premier superheroes, the Justice Alliance, have gathered in Metropolis to investigate a vortex in the sky. Superman flies towards it and suddenly vanishes, the Martian Manhunter exclaiming that he cannot sense him anywhere on Earth.
In the Justice League's reality, the switches are increasing in frequency and severity. Overman breaks free of his cell on the Watchtower but the League overpower him, and their Martian Manhunter threatens that he will subject him to another psychic attack if he does not cooperate.
On Overman's world, Superman has joined up with the Freedom Fighters, heroic alternate versions of his enemies. Metallo and Doomsday do not trust him, but General Zod recognises Superman's innate goodness and convinces them to stand down when they attack him. Suddenly an alarm sounds and the Superman of Earth-D appears in the Freedom Fighters' underground bunker. Superman-D easily fights of the Freedom Fighters when they attack him and he and Superman square off. However, the two instantly trust each other and rather than fight discuss what has happened. They realise that Superman-D had been brought to the other reality just like Superman, but then wonder how they could both be there at the same time rather than switching places.
Back on the League's world, Martian Manhunter senses something in the vortex and believes he can guide the League to it. They decide to take the experimental Infinity-1 Javelin into the vortex. Batman is initially opposed, but agrees when Wonder Woman disappears and switches with a pile of bones, an alternate version of herself who is long dead. The Javelin flies into the vortex and disappears.
Wonder Woman finds herself on a frozen, barren world. She struggles to reach a cave, where to her horror she meets Darkseid.
