Justice League International #19 is an issue of the series Justice League International (Volume 1) with a cover date of November, 1988.

Synopsis for "No More Mr. Nice-Guy!"

After being reverted back to his normal state by yet another hard blow to his head,[1] Guy Gardner finds that it was Logo who had crashed through the room inside the JLI's New York Embassy and into Guy. Guy gets angry and gets in a brawl with Lobo, who doesn't want to fight. But Guy is persistent and Lobo decides that he's going to kill Guy for free, since his normal policy is to only kill those of which he was paid to.

The other present members break-up the fight, and Booster Gold encases Guy in a bubble until he falls asleep. Inside, Maxwell Lord wants to grant Lobo temporary membership, and Lobo makes up his mind that he will bide his time with the League until he can get them all together and kill them, thus fulfilling his contract with Lord Manga Khan.

Batman rejects Lobo's temporary membership, and leaves to go recruit other heroes. He tries to convince Superman, who declines but says that he can be called in case of emergency; he is successful in getting Hawkman and Hawkwoman say yes. Meanwhile, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold unsuccessfully try to recruit The Flash.

In deep space, Big Barda, G'nort, Martian Manhunter, and Rocket Red are still alive and in their ship out in space when they encounter the Cluster Ship and decide to go to Apokolips.

Trivia

  • It's not clear when or how Batman evidently rejoined the JLI after quitting in Suicide Squad #13. He participated in a mission with some Leaguers in Bialya in the last storyline but it was explicit there that we wasn't acting as a League member.
