Synopsis for "The New World"

In Mexico, Sue Dibny is kidnapped when the JLI arrive for a summit. It transpires that her abductors are a group of Aztecs who want the League out of Mexico so that they can bring about a revolution and a return to the old ways. However, the way they plan to do this, as Metamorpho discovers, is to destroy Mexico City with a nuclear explosion. Leaving three members to rescue Sue, the rest of the JLI speed to Mexico City to hunt for the bomb, which is placed under the altar at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadaloupe. It is defused by Tasmanian Devil (using a technique he picked up from the James Bond films). Following this event, the summit goes well, but the League is unaware that the Aztec revolutionaries have a network of allies across the world. Later, Sue informs Maya, Doctor Light and Power Girl that they are due in Bombay in five hours for another conference. This is the last place in the world that Maya wants to go to.
