Synopsis for "Teamwork"
Ralph and Sue Dibny are on hand at an amusement park with a group of international diploments when the Royal Flush Gang attacks, intending to capture the diplomats. Ralph tries to intervene but is easily defeated. Meanwhile, Maxwell Lord reveals to Oberon that he actually staged the Royal Flush Gang's attack in a ploy to get the Justice League to reform, but they've gone farther than he'd intended.
Booster Gold finds Blue Beetle sitting in the Bug, depressed and out of shape after losing the League. The two former friends start arguing and quickly come to blows about their ideologies. Fire and Ice come by as well, and all four find out about the attack at the amusement park over the Bug's TV.
Superman prepares to fly to Florida to take on the Royal Flush Gang, but is stopped briefly by Batman. He tells Supes that Maxwell Lord contacted him about getting the League back together, and Batman nominated Supes for the job with Martian Manhunter gone. Superman turns down the offer and flies to the amusement park, but is defeated when they use a secret weapon to drain his solar energy. Blue Beetle, Booster, Fire and Ice fly to the park next, and are joined by Power Girl and Metamorpho, who Ice reached out to for help. In the middle of their chaotic assault on the park, Guy Gardner shows up looking for a fight as well. The disorganized heroes are routed and retreat to the Bug, but are followed by the Royal Flush Gang who start trying to blast it open. Ice clutches the unconscious Guy's ring and focuses all her will on it to call for help, managing to reach Hal Jordan through his own power ring.
Hal rounds up Crimson Fox (Vivian d'Aramis), the Flash, Aquaman, and Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi). This motley group of heroes stages a surprise attack on the park, and manages to free the others and eventually mop up the Royal Flush Gang. The Weapons Master and a Dominator observing the battle remark they've had a chance to observe the heroes' capabilities.
The experience has changed Superman's mind about heading up the Justice League, with him and Hal leading two teams formed out of the ranks of the superheroes who saved the day.
