Synopsis for "The Terrific Ten Part Two"
Mister Terrific's team has begun its difficult journey across the depths of Hell, only to be attacked by the Demons Three. Although the Justice League has defeated them numerous times, the demons have the home-field advantage, which they freely use against the heroes. Power Girl and Guy Gardner take on the legion of the damned so their companions can escape. Although Owlwoman does not want to leave anyone behind, Terrific reminds here that everyone on this team has nothing and no one to return to. In this team, everyone is expendable, a statement that proves true when Power Girl and Guy are killed by demons.
At the Watchtower, Professor Haley and June Robbins, Challengers of the Unknown, run diagnostics on Red Tornado and conclude he is operating at 98% efficiency. When Blue Beetle asks if Red Tornado can find out anything about what is happening on Earth, Red Tornado is unable to answer. Blue Beetle also informs the Challengers that, instead of evacuating, several super-villains have elected to stay on Earth and made a deal with the demon Neron, who has increased their powers in exchange for their souls. Right now, they have been unable to deduce what the villains are planning but they are all moving towards Oklahoma City.
On the surface of the Earth, Wallace West, Martian Manhunter and Doctor Occult attempt to contain a trio of escaped villains but Rainbow Raider manipulates their emotions. Wallace uses his super-speed to avoid the Raider's energy beams and knock him and his friends out. He also relays to his friends about the villains' plans.
Back in Hell, Tim Drake, the Batman from the future, tries to process the current events. Alan Scott harshly tells him to get back to his feet and return to work, but Gold Hawk reminds the old hero that Tim is just a boy with a lot on his shoulders. Tim, however, remembers he has a mission to fulfill and rejoins his teammates. The team arrives at a large gate guarded by a demon with the appearance of a girl and eyes covered in snakes. She can read people's minds and wants to play a game, so she sends out her snakes against the heroes. To spare his team, Terrific offers to play with the demon and challenges her to guess whether his statement is true or false. Confident, the demon accepts and boasts she has never lost game.
Terrific tricks her with an inherently paradoxical statement and the angry demon unleashes her giant snakes on the heroes, but they have already breached the gate. The only one who does not make it to the other side is Alan, who stays behind to hold the demons back and gets torn to pieces by a horde of wooden snakes.
From his hideout, Neron watches the heroes' progress and sends out his forces against them.
